The Metrics Report (Fall 2021) summarizes California's language access data, as of June 30, 2021, including statewide efforts to make comprehensive language access a reality in the courts.

For Cycle 3, the maximum amounts were increased to encourage larger requests for funding and the grant priorities were updated to expand the types of eligible projects.

The court's projects (Cycle 1 grant funds) included: 600 wayfinding and regulatory signs, modified court infrastructure to accommodate telephonic interpretation for all court locations, and wireless equipment for simultaneous interpretation

This document provides instructions for completing the application for Approval of a Continuing Education Activity for Court Interpreter Minimum Continuing Education Credit (CIMCE).

Courts may use this form to document its good-faith effort to find an independent contractor interpreter at the applicable maximum rate (see Judicial Council’s Payment Policies for Independent Contractor Interpreters), and to document the court’s Executive Officer’s or designee’s approval of the higher rate.

For Cycle 2, the Judicial Council approved contingency awards to 14 trial courts and the use of remaining funding for remote appearance technology.
